Death Row: Two convicts to be hanged on March 25

SUKKUR: Two prisoners at the Sukkur Central Jail will be hanged on March 25 according to the black warrants issued by the court. Sources claim that Hafiz Jaleel Morejo and Abdul Razzaq Chohan will be executed next week. Morejo, a resident of Naushero Feroz, was charged with his uncle’s murder. The Supreme Court dismissed his appeal. His mercy petition was rejected by the president. More than 20 black warrants were issued against him — this is the 21st. Chohan, a prayer leader from Bachal Shah Miani, Sukkur, was charged with killing a child due to a personal enmity in 2004. He was tried by an anti-terrorism court and was sentenced to death. Jail superintendent Shahid Hussain Chijro confirmed the execution dates and said that arrangements have been finalised.
