PESHAWAR: A resolution passed by the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Assembly demanding the Hilal-e-Istaqlal award for the province’s people has been sent to the federal government for approval, stated a handout issued on Monday.  The resolution was passed by the assembly in February and sought the award for K-P’s citizens to honour their bravery in the ongoing fight against militancy and forbearing the brunt of terrorist attacks for the past seven years. On the basis of these sacrifices, the K-P government has demanded the federal government to announce Hilal-e-Istaqlal for its citizens like it was awarded to Lahore, Sialkot and Sargodha for showing patience and bravery in the 1965 Pakistan-India war, it added.
