Going Green: Order issued for tree plantation

LAHORE: The Environmental Protection Department on Saturday issued orders to all government departments and district governments to participate in the spring plantation drive. The department asked them to commit to a specific target of trees that they would plant this spring. According to EPD figures, Pakistan has 4.7 per cent forest cover whereas is 25 per cent is globally considered essential for balancing the ecosystem and mitigating climate change.
