Pre-caution: Police told to beef up security

Islamabad Police have heightened security in the city with increased patrolling and checking. The police have been directed to erect pickets in various areas. IGP Tahir Alam Khan has said that policemen would be trained by the bomb disposal quad.

The IGP said that policemen will erect surprise pickets in various areas of the city with a purpose to maintain high vigilance. All SPs have been directed to conduct checking of all hotels, guest houses, inns in their respective areas and keep record of visitors and guests.


He said progress of police officials would be reviewed and cops ensuring effective crackdown against criminals would be encouraged.


The IGP said that installation of CCTV cameras, deployment of security guards and checking through metal detectors should be ensured at worship places, weekly bazaars, and hospitals.
