Seized and returned: NAB disburses recovered funds

A cheque of Rs4.5 million was handed over to Peshawar Development Authority

PESHAWAR: The head of the National Accountability Bureau in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Shahzad Saleem, on Friday handed over cheques of recovered money amounting to Rs8.2 million to the departments concerned. A cheque of Rs4.5 million was handed over to Peshawar Development Authority director Pervez Alam. The amount was recovered from officials of PDA in a case regarding illegal allotment of a plot near Bagh-e-Naran Sport Complex, Hayatabad Peshawar. An amount of Rs3.3 million was handed over to Bannu Development Authority director Zafarullah Khan. The amount was recovered from officers of BDA regarding sub-standard developmental works during 2011-12. A cheque of Rs0.366 million was handed over to Additional Commissioner of Inland Revenue Service RTO Abbottabad Mumtaz Ahmad. The amount was recovered from officials of Income Tax Department, Abbottabad.
