KARACHI:
The federal government has replaced Sajjad Saleem Hotiana with Muhammad Siddique Memon as the new chief secretary of Sindh, according to a notification issued on Thursday by the establishment division, Islamabad.
Memon, an officer of the district management group (DMG) who was serving as the Pakistan National Shipping Corporation chairman, took over the charge of his position and held a meeting with the Sindh chief minister in Karachi. Sources in the Sindh government said after the appointment of the new chief secretary, there were chances of a reshuffle in the civil bureaucracy.
The change of Sindh chief secretary has formalised after a two-month dispute between the chief minister and Hotiana on administrative issues. Transfers and postings, promotion of officers and land allotments were the main bones of contention.
