KARACHI:
An anti-terrorism court (ATC) reissued black warrants for condemned prisoner, Shafqat Hussain, on Thursday after receiving an intimation letter from jail authorities. Hussain was condemned to death in 2004 on charges of killing a seven-year-old boy in New Town. Hussain was a security guard at the residential complex where the deceased lived. According to the prosecution, he kidnapped the boy and killed him. His case was tried in an ATC for at least six months where he was sentenced to death. He was set to be executed on January 14, however, the order became ineffective as the government halted his execution owing to the fact that he was a juvenile at the time of his sentence. Fresh black warrants have been issued for March 19 as his execution date.
