Swabi shoot-out: Rs0.2m announced for injured policemen

SWABI: K-P IGP Nasir Durrani visited Swabi Police Lines on Thursday and announced Rs0.2 million for each of the policemen injured in Tuesday night’s gunfight with militants in Shiwa Kalay. Addressing policemen at the training centre of Swabi Police Lines at Shah Mansoor Complex and at different public jirgas at Swabi DC’s office, Durrani said the police exhibited great bravery during the clash. He added three militants were killed in the shoot-out while a policeman, Syed Azeem, also laid down his life. Many other policemen were injured, some critically.
