Notices Issued: ‘Buildings to install fire-fighting gear’

RAWALPINDI: The Civil Defense Department issued notices to various high-rise buildings, particularly those located along Murree Road, including Dubai Plaza, Rabi Center, Gulf Center, Midway Centurium, and Malikabad Shopping Centers, to ensure the installation of fully-functional firefighting equipment, smoke alarms and safe exits in the buildings. Civil Defense Deputy District Officer Sanjeeda Khanum on Wednesday visited different commercial plazas and found that there was lack of safety measures in place, such as ineffective fire-fighting gadgets and smoke alarms, while there were also no emergency exits in some buildings.
