Two of the three alleged militants killed in crossfire on Tuesday night have been identified.

Swabi police raided a house in a graveyard in Shiwa Kalay, resulting in a prolonged exchange of fire between the police and alleged militants hiding there.

Earlier, police claimed to have gunned down four militants during the operation.

However, a press release issued from the office of DPO Sajjad Khan on Wednesday stated three militants were killed when police raided the house of Nawab Ali. The identity of two militants has been ascertained through CNICs and mobile phones that were recovered from the house. One of them was identified as Salman, a resident of Sheikh Jana, while another as Bilal, a resident of Shiwa.

The dispatch added Salman was wanted for attacks on polio teams, police convoys and cases of extortion.
