LAHORE: The Pakistan women football coach Tariq Lutfi has promised an improved performance in the inaugural South Asian Football Federation (SAFF) Women Championship. However, Lutfi has insisted that it would be unfair to expect a lot from the team whose skills are still being developed.

“It’s always a difficult task to boost the skills of women in the particular game,” said Lutfi. “We still need plenty of time to develop those skills but I still see eagerness and enthusiasm in them towards the game.”

Pakistan’s 18-women squad is to be shortlisted from the top 25 players that are currently participating in a month-long training camp and will depart next week to participate in the SAFF Championship taking place in Bangladesh from December 14 to 24.

Lutfi also claimed the importance of international exposure for the team.
