PESHAWAR: A Chinese national was arrested in Khyber Agency Monday morning while attempting to enter Afghanistan without valid travelling documents.

Officials in the political administration said that personnel from the Khasadar forces at Takhta Beg check post became suspicious about him while he was boarding a bus.

Upon carrying out a security check, the person was identified as a Chinese national. He lacked valid visa documents for travelling to Afghanistan and a permit for passing Khyber Agency.

The Chinese national was handed over to the Peshawar police for interrogation.

Earlier on February 4, Islamabad traffic police caught two Chinese nationals trying to hoodwink officials during a driving test.

The police claimed to have arrested a Chinese national in connection with attempting a driving test for his fellow national at the Islamabad Traffic Police’s (ITP) headquarters in Sector F-8/1.
