QUETTA: Balochistan Chief Minister Dr Abdul Malik Baloch said on Sunday that the annual festival of Sibbi offers an ideal platform for business, exchange of knowledge and entertainment. The Sibbi Mela is most significant today as it provides some respite to the people of militancy-hit province. He pointed out that the tradition of holding the Sibbi Mela was centuries old, while the region was home to Mehrgarh civilization which dates back to over 10,000 years. “Sibbi Mela provides opportunities of enjoyment and links people culturally, financially and politically,” he said speaking at the festival. CM Baloch talked in detail about the development plans of the provincial government and its achievements. Since the days of British Raj, the festival remains an important event attended by governor, chief minister, top brass of military and heads of law enforcement agencies in the province along with tribal chiefs.
