ISLAMABAD: The military brass on Tuesday reviewed the progress achieved in the ongoing operations against militants in the tribal areas, including North Waziristan Agency. They met as part of the monthly meeting of the corps commanders presided over by army chief General Raheel Sharif at the General Headquarters in Rawalpindi.

The forum dwelt at length on various professional matters, according to the military’s media wing, the ISPR. “The participants also undertook a comprehensive review of operational preparedness, prevalent internal and external security situation of the country, including progress of ongoing Operation Zarb-e- Azb,” it added.

A source familiar with the meeting said that the corps commanders also discussed the National Action Plan (NAP) and its implementation so far. The NAP was developed after the massacre at the Peshawar Army Public School in December, last year.
