Nestlé, PFDC team up for girls’ education

LAHORE:

Nestlé Pakistan will be raising funds with Pakistan Fashion Design Council (PFDC) for two girls’ schools that the council supports financially. According to a press release, the two Lahore schools — Girls High School, Bado Ki Sani and Girls High School, Sitara Colony —  provide education to more than 3,000 students.

The fundraising event, PFDC Swarovski Crystal Couturiers, was held on February 28. Eight capsule designer collections made out of Swarovski crystals were showcased at the event.

Waqar Ahmad, the head of corporate affairs, Nestlé Pakistan said that the company was happy to extend support to the PFDC project. “We decided to get on board with the PFDC because giving back to the society is what our vision of creating shared value is all about. That is why we are eager to offer long-term institutional support to the two girls’ schools. It is a chance to take our Nestlé Healthy Kids programme to these institutions.”

Saad Ali, the CEO of PFDC, said, “It gives me great pleasure to redefine our partnership with Nestlé, since the relationship has gone beyond monetary arrangements. They share PFDC’s vision of playing our part in giving back to the society we live in.”
