NEW YORK: In a shocking incident of racial abuse, a group of school children accused a young Sikh boy of being a "terrorist" as he makes a video of the abuses hurled at him, The Times of India reported.

The video was then posted on Inquisitr and shows the Sikh boy from Chattahoochee Elementary School in Duluth, Georgia as sitting in what appears to be a school bus and is surrounded by other students.

While making the video, Harsukh Singh whispers into the camera and says, "The kids are being racist to me."

A young girl sitting behind him is then heard screaming "terrorist! terrorist!" and points at the boy who remains calm and resorts to shouting "who cares" in retaliation to the children abusing him.

The video posted by a user named 'Nagra Nagra' was reported by Inquisitr.

Singh had apparently uploaded the video initially with the description "Kids being racist to me and calling me an Afghan terrorist. Please don't act like this towards people like me. If you don't know, I'm not Muslim I'm Sikh." The video has so far attracted 130,000 views.

A viewer of the video described it as "disgusting" adding that "the young Sikh boy is being bullied with racist chants on a school bus. The Sikh bravely states that he doesn't care what they think of him."

The incident emerged just weeks after a Hindu temple was vandalised in Seattle. A swastika and the phrase "Get out" was sprayed on the outer wall of the temple and cultural centre in Washington last month.

According to the Council on American Relations, FBI hatecrimes statistics have shown that anti-Muslim hatecrimes are still five times more common than they were before the 9/11 attacks.

Just last year, 29-year-old Sikh man Sandeep Singh was brutally injured after a man slammed his pick-up truck into him after calling him 'Osama' and that he should "go back to your country."

After the incident, Joseph Caleca was indicted by a grand jury on a nine-court indictment which charged him with murder as a hate crime, assault, criminal possession of a weapon and leaving the scene without reporting after hitting Singh.

observer | 9 years ago | Reply I feel sorry for children of these ethnic groups whose parents insist on the kids look odd with their dress, hair, turban, beards, etc. when they live in alien societies. If they are so religious, why don't they stay back in their own home countries. Look at this Sikh boy with his silly Smurf like hairdo.
