Prime Minister to reopen public complaint helpline

Secretary for interior says govt has no plan of issuing new arms licenses; existing record being corrected, digitized

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif will restart a public helpline to listen to the people’s complains, Parliamentary Secretary for Interior Marriyum Aurangzeb stated in an interview with Radio Pakistan on Monday.

Aurangzeb added that the implementation of the National Action Plan is the government’s top priority, and that the prime minister is personally overseeing the implementation progress.

She informed that the government did not plan on issuing new arms licenses and that the existing record of arms licenses is being corrected and digitized. Aurangzeb added that mobile SIM verification will also help improve security across the country.

Replying to a question, she said that the government had no intention to shut down seminaries, but that their registration is imperative. Fifty-three unregistered seminaries in Islamabad had been issued notices, she added. She also informed that registration of Afghan refugees is being streamlined.

Raisani | 9 years ago | Reply even in his last tenure the complaint helpline was not fruitful, so will it prove now. He just chit chats and no mechanism for redressal is adopted. Another eyewash from Shareef Brothers.
