Violent reaction: Man sets himself ablaze after quarrel with spouse

FAISALABAD:

Police said on Sunday that a man had set himself on fire after a domestic quarrel in Jhang Saddar area.

The Saddar SHO said Irfan Aslam, a resident of Shabbirabad area, had had an acrimonious relationship with his wife.

He said he had doused himself in kerosene and set himself alight after a quarrel with his wife.  The SHO said that Shahid and Sadia, Aslam’s relatives, had been seriously injured while trying to put out the blaze.

He said the trio had been taken to the Jhang District Headquarters Hospital. The SHO said Aslam and Shahid had been taken to Faisalabad Allied Hospital later. Allah Ditta, a doctor posted at the hospital’s emergency ward, said both had significant burn injuries and were fighting for their lives.
