KARACHI: Security concerns affected Pakistan Navy’s match in the Pakistan Premier League (PPL) after the visitors failed to reach the venue in Nushki for their clash against the Baloch Football Club that cost them three points. Navy missed their second match in the league which leaves the team in ninth place, while Baloch FC stay at 11th place with 31 points.

Meanwhile, Afghan Football Club drew their match against Pakistan Army 0-0 in Chaman. Army sit at second in the league with 45 points despite the draw but their coach Shafqat Mahmood complained that the Pakistan Football Federation (PFF) is risking players’ lives.

“The PFF has to guarantee the safety of the players in faraway places like Chaman and Nushki,” Mahmood told The Express Tribune. “The home teams will insist holding matches in their own cities but all the three big teams - Army, Navy and the Pakistan Air Force - have made it clear that they will not send their players to these venues.”
