Even as the date of its foreign secretary’s visit to Islamabad approaches, Indian troops continued to violate the ceasefire on the Line of Control (LoC), injuring a girl on Friday evening.
Pakistan Army retaliated in kind, forcing the enemy to remain silent in the area.
According to local residents, Indian forces opened fire on the civilian population in Nakyal sector’s Kenthigal Dabsi village on the LoC, some 180 kilometres from Muzaffarabad.
A 16-year-old girl Rabia Noor was hit in the neck by a bullet coming from the other side of the LoC, local sources said. The injured girl was shifted to District Headquarters Hospital Kotli for the treatment, where doctors stated that her condition was critical, they said.
Officials of the district administration in Kotli have also confirmed the Indian army’s firing at the civilian population on the LoC. The firing has created panic among the local people.
