PESHAWAR: The Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa government on Thursday sent a letter to the federal ministries of interior, information, broadcasting and national heritage, seeking assistance in promoting the Pakistan Army Helpline 1125 in the province.

According to sources in the K-P government, the federal ministries have been requested to loop in Pakistan Telecommunication Authority and Pakistan Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) in spreading the word by floating SMSs, highlighting the service offered by Pakistan Army. The people of the province can report any suspicious activity or information about militants anonymously to the military.

The military’s weekly security review noted the public is not yet fully aware of the helpline and there is need to reach out to the masses, added the letter.
