The event aims to target 1500 plus foreign buyers, diplomats and dignitaries in the city, according to a press release.

“I’m quite pleased with the turn out we’ve been receiving in terms of buyers and traders who have promised to attend this year’s exhibit,” said S M Muneer, the CEO of TDAP.

Rabia Javeri Agha, Secretary (TDAP), said that Expo Pakistan 2015 will promote the positive image of Pakistan.  “We aspire to go bigger and better with this year’s Expo and Fashion Show line up. We are all set to host a one-of-a-kind exhibition yet again which manages to attract massive international and national buyers,” she said. She further asserted, “I’m adamant that with this exhibition, we will be changing the negative image of Pakistan in the eyes of the world.”

A large number of celebrated fashion designers will be participating in this year’s Fashion Show.  The design houses scheduled to showcase on  day one are: Zaheer Abbas, SAI Fashions, A unique blend of the finest Maheen Kardar (Karma Pink), Ayesha Hashwani, Akif Mahmood, Nickie Nina and  Sara Sublime in TDAP Mix, Adnan Pardesy, Indus Valley School, Fashion Pakistan Council featuring Sana Safinaz, Deepak Perwani,  Maheen Khan (Gulabo), and Ali Xeeshan.

Designer Zaheer Abbas showcased his spring summer prêt-à-porter collection titled ‘La Base’ in expo 2013. His detailed work positively makes him one to look out for. The lawn queens Sana Safinaz brought their vintage, 40’s feel collection to the ramp last year. Pakistan Institute of Fashion and Design (PIFD) showcased work of the graduating batch of 2013, including the department of fashion design, jewellery design and gemological sciences and leather footwear and accessories. Maheen Khan‘s 2013 collection was inspired by trucks and rickshaws as usual. Let’s keep our fingers crossed for something a little more diverse this year.
