Retaliation?: Seven men injured in grenade attack

Further investigation is underway.

KARACHI: At least seven people were injured in a hand grenade attack in Bihar Colony, Lyari, on Sunday.  Following the attack, ambulances from different welfare associations reached the site and shifted the victims to Civil Hospital, Karachi, for treatment. Those injured were identified as Asad Rafiq, 18, Ataullah Waqar, 15, Hanif Abbasi, 22, Aurangzeb Qadir, 30, Imran Riaz, 30, Faisal Arif, 18, and Siraj Baloch, 30. The attack occurred following the killing of two gang members associated with the Baba Ladla group, namely Sohail alias Khoof and Shaheryar alias Sherry, during an alleged encounter with the Rangers in the area. Police officials claimed that members of the Baba Ladla group attacked residents of the area over suspicion of providing information to the law enforcers leading to the encounter. Further investigation is underway.
