Aamir had publicly stated that he was very disappointed with Karan and Arjun Kapoor who had recounted the jokes to him the night the roast happened.

Aamir had gone as far as calling it "violent" and had scolded the two for participating in it.
Johar said that he was "taken aback" by Aamir publicly condemning the show as he is close to both Aamir and his wife, Kiran Rao and was not expecting him to express his disapproval so openly.
It’s not just Karan, though – there are others who don’t exactly think Aamir’s comment was in great taste. Not many would want to come out and say anything, but Pooja Bhatt hasn’t shied away from calling him ‘frightening and injurious,’ while Russell Peters pretty much asked Aamir to shut up.
This whole issue is shaping up to be a lot messier than anyone expected. Here’s hoping everything settles down soon, and this doesn’t escalate into a full-on fight between Aamir and Karan.
