ISLAMABAD:

The Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) is working on a mechanism to improve the country’s tax revenue by collecting income tax from small traders, FPCCI President Mian Muhammad Adrees said while addressing the business community at the Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI) on Thursday.

He said the mechanism, if implemented, would end the interaction between small traders and the tax machinery and would be helpful in broadening the tax base as traders would feel more confident to pay tax through their representative bodies.
