PESHAWAR: A petition has been filed in the Peshawar High Court challenging the government’s decision to terminate the services of 796 warders recruited for various prisons of the province within a month of appointment. The aggrieved warders filed the petition through Muhammad Ijaz Khan Sabi on Wednesday. According to the petition, the government initially advertised 120 posts of warders and later increased the posts to 800 in an advertisement published on October 24, 2014. The warders say they gave the required written and physical tests and met all the conditions set for recruitment. After interviews, the government issued appointment letters to 796 warders on January 22. However, all the appointments were revoked without giving any reason.
