Finance minister and Jamaat-e-Islami leader Muzaffar Syed has announced existing coalition partners in the K-P Assembly will jointly contest local government elections in the province.
Speaking to journalists during his visit to Salhad village, Syed said his party has constituted a committee in this regard. “It has been constituted with the approval of JI’s senior leadership,” he said. Syed added he is also part of the team.
According to the finance minister, the decision to jointly contest local government polls was taken in view of the JI’s successful partnership with Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI). Fielding a question about seat adjustment with PTI and other coalition partners, Syed said the other coalition partners have yet to appoint their committee members.
