ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court on Monday accepted the plea of Balochistan government against the Balochistan High Court decision in the Gwadar Airport land dispute. The three-member bench headed by Justice Mian Saqib Nisar also stopped payment of Rs70 million to the claimant of 650 acres of airport land. The counsel for the provincial government said the British built the airport in 1940 and used it during the World War II. The claimant, Abdul Ghafoor, said his grandfather owned the land. Justice Nisar remarked that the British had used Gwadar Airport, then it was in the use of Oman’s king and now the land is owned by CAA.
