LAHORE: The father of a boy, who died from an electric shock from low hanging wires, has filed an application to the prime minister requesting the government to fix responsibility of his son’s death and to take action against negligent officials of the Lahore Electric Supply Company.  Muhammad Qasir, a bachelors student, was hanging a banner in Chandiyan, North Cantonment, on the occasion of Eid Miladun Nabi when he received an electric shock from a low-hanging 11,000 volts electric wire. Qasir died on the spot. Rafaqat Ali, his father, said the high-voltage wire had been hanging low in the residential area for a very long time. He said residents of the colony had requested Lesco authorities several times to remove the wires but they did not listen. Ali said he had lost his son because of the wire and if it was not removed, it could prove fatal for others.  He requested that the officials, whose negligence had let to the unfortunate incident, be brought to book. Mohrrar Shahid Ali said they had summoned Lesco officials to explain their side. The application has been sent to the police’s legal affairs deputy superintendent.
