Demanding salaries, LHWs take out protest

The police, led by DSP Abdul Ohluck, initiated negotiation with the health workers.

Lady Health Workers (LHW) in the district held a rally protesting against the nonpayment of their salaries on Saturday.


Hundreds of LHWs took to the streets to protest against the Punjab government for not paying them their dues. Passing through the district council road, protesters demonstrated at Katchery Chowk, suspending traffic in the area.

The police, led by DSP Abdul Ohluck, initiated negotiation with the health workers. On his assurance, LHWs ended the protest and dispersed peacefully.
