Residences ordinance: Five booked for violating law

Morgah police registered FIRs against hotel owners.

RAWALPINDI: Police have registered cases against five hotels and landlords for violation of the Punjab Information of Temporary Residence Ordinance 2015 as the accused did not pass on information of tenants to the police. According to a police spokesman, Morgah police registered FIRs against hotel owners identified as Ghulam Mustafa and Haider Pervaiz while the Saddar Wah Police registered a case against Muhammad Asim Shah. Similarly, Waris Khan police registered FIRs against landlords identified as Muhammad Saddique and Muhammad Zaman as they had not submitted details of tenants. Under the ordinance, details of new tenants should be provided to police within 24 hours of giving possession of property, he added.
