Security measures: Pedestrian bridge to be removed
PESHAWAR:
As part of security measures for schools in Peshawar, the provincial government has decided to do away with the pedestrian bridge near St Mary’s School. The school’s main gate opens on Warsak Road and its boundary wall is extended till GT Road. The bridge was constructed in 2005 over GT Road to make crossing the road convenient and safe for people. After the attack on Army Public School on December 16 last year, the bridge was closed for use. Now the government has decided to remove it as it can provide access to the whole school.
