Financial literacy: SECP organises awareness seminar

It was part of the SECP’s overall investor education programme

ISLAMABAD: The Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP), in order to further its endeavours to protect retail investors, raise awareness of savings and investment and build investor confidence, organised a seminar at the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan (ICAP) on Monday. The seminar was well-attended, with presentations and a question and answer session, according to a statement issued by the SECP. It was part of the SECP’s overall investor education programme, which is aimed at enhancing financial literacy and providing easy access to financial instruments through the setting up of capital market hubs across major cities of Pakistan. The seminar was designed to enlighten the participants about capital markets, mutual and pension funds as investment and savings vehicles and the initiatives taken by the SECP to safeguard investor interests.
