KARACHI:

The Pakistan Cycling Federation (PCF) has announced an eight-member team for the Asian Cycling Championship, which is to be held in Thailand from February 10-14, said PCF secretary Azhar Ali.

The national team comprising four male riders – Naimat Ali, Zeeshan Ali, Habibullah and Sajid Mohammad – along with two female cyclists – Rahila Bano and Rajia Shabbir – will leave for Bangkok on February 8 with Moazzam Khan as team manager and coach Ishtiaq Mubeen.

Moazzam, a former cyclist, said their aim was to gain exposure and confidence from the event as there is a dire need to ensure the country’s participation in high-profile international events on a regular basis.
