Fascinated with British spy 007 James Bond controlling his car from his watch? A prototype app for the upcoming Apple Watch could let you control your Tesla car from the comfort of your wrist.

The prototype app, developed by a Ukraine-based developer Eleks, shows how a user might be able to control some of the basic functions of a Tesla Model S from the touchscreen of the Apple Watch, Mashable reported.

Eleks using Apple's WatchKit, which allows developers to create third-party apps for the forthcoming wearable device, developed a Tesla-friendly app for the upcoming iWatch.

Despite the limitations of WatchKit, which does not give developers access to the Apple Watch's accelerometer or gyroscope, the Taptic Engine and no access to the device's built-in speaker or microphone, Eleks was still able to develop some features for Tesla which are exciting.

The rudimentary functions include the ability to lock and unlock the car, turn on its headlights and monitor its temperature, mileage and battery life.

"At first, the app was intended to be a demo of what the Apple Watch is capable of when designing apps for brands," Eleks' Markiyan Matsekh said, adding that “But after such a reaction from both Apple Watch and Tesla aficionados, we’ll definitely consider publishing it.”
