HYDERABAD/ KARACHI:

Around 20 people had gathered outside the residence of the chief minister of Sindh on Monday to protest the attack on an imambargah in Shikarpur that claimed more than 57 lives and left as many injured.

They demanded that it was time for the chief minister and Rangers DG to hand in their resignations. They shouted slogans against the Taliban, Qaim Ali Shah and Rangers and blamed them for the deaths of men and children who had gone to offer their Friday prayers at the imambargah on Friday.

Speak up

"More than 60 people died in Friday's blast and no one has said anything against this violent incident," said Jafaria Disaster Cell's (JDC), Syed Zafar Abbas Jafri. "More than 36 hours after the incident, people are still waiting to be treated at hospitals."

Khurram Ali, one of the organisers and member of the National Students Federation said that the Sindh government should shift the injured to Karachi and pay for their treatment. He vowed that they will hold a sit-in till their demands were met.

Police blocked the road leading towards CM House by placing containers around it. No one was allowed to enter the red zone.

Courts closed

Legal activity at the Sindh High Court (SHC) in Karachi and its bench in Hyderabad came to a standstill as lawyers decided to boycott proceedings to protest the Shikarpur incident. This was done on a request from the Sindh High Court's Bar Association. Urgent cases were heard by judges in their chambers.

Why would Shahji resign? Husband was the President of the country for 5 years and the wife murders were not brought to justice. Did he resign? So why should Shahji resign. Did the petroleum minister resign after petrol crisis? Did Khattak resign after APS?This is not the culture. They will give their life but not resign.
