The decision to raise an anti-terror force was taken at an Apex Committee meeting jointly chaired by Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah and Governor Dr Ishratul Ebad in Karachi to review the law and order situation at CM House in Karachi.
During the meeting, approvals was also given for the establishment of zonal committees for integrated and coordinated action against terrorism. They also decided to refer 57 terrorism cases to special courts within 10 days.
Briefing the participants of the provincial apex committee, Brigadier Ahsan Gulrez of five corps revealed that in order to ensure implementation of Provincial Action Plan across the province, three zonal committees in Karachi, Hyderabad and Sukkur will need to be constituted.

BETTER LATE THAN NEVER. The anti-terrorist force should have come into existence many years back. However, what is abundantly clear is that PPP is anti-awam party and has no interest whatsoever, in improving the quality of life of the denizens in Sindh. A few examples are, the 2010-2011 flood affectees, Thar famine and disease victims and the fifty plus deaths of children, the lawlessness and lack of civic facilities in Karachi, the suicide bomb blast in Shikarpur, the qabza of roads and lanes around Bilawal House, the neglect of parks, and shabby police force who attend only to the PPP VIPs.
