The fifth bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Hyderabad was ordained at a ceremony at St Xavier’s Church on Saturday.
Bishop-elect Reverend Samson Shukardin has succeeded Bishop Max John Rodrigues, who retired at the age of 70 years. The Catholic Diocese of Hyderabad covers the entire province apart from Karachi, with over 50,000 followers in its 43 churches.
