She said a "strategic" partner, not a friend or an ally. Strategy means "need of the hour". Pakistan is a partner because it is currently needed.
@Aschraful Makhlooq: How is this a hypocrisy? USA's relationship with India and Pakistan is NOT a zero sum game. Pakistan has its own priorities qand interests vis-a-vis USA and India has its own. I don't see any reason USA should follow "either or" relationship with India or Pakistan
USA relationship with Islamabad is strong and vital for its strategic needs. " The Satwan Bahri Bhairha The seventh fleet" which embarked on the road of strategic partnership in sixties from an unknown coast of North America is still to reach its destination in Bay of Bengal.
A Peshawary
@Aschraful, why bring China into this discussion?
There's no reason why US can't have strategic partnership with both India and Pakistan. The two countries are not natural enemies, and if US can bring them closer, so much the better for both nations.
it is a history of US, that it always plays a dual role in strategic communication. One one side India & Pakistan are enemies and on other side US plays its role to make relation with both countries but India on first priority, simplifies that US has to gain benefits on both ends. That's why Psaki highlights that India & Pakistan should enter the dialogue. But ultimately this is not there aim, there is strategic game behind this statement. The time will show the outcomes. But Pakistan should be careful in handling issues with both countries such as US & India.
Diplomacy is best hypocracy and vice versa. America is REAL partner of India as it has proved several times in history. But it is partner oe pakis just on words not by her actions.
They know the fool won't know what it means.
How long US will show hypocrisy before the world because on the first hand US declares India its the trustworthy and credible partner in Afghanistan, signs civil nuclear technology with India and trying its best and utmost to make India's defence formidable against China and on the other hand declares Pakistan its front line and strategic partner in the war of terrorism but never wants to sign civil nuclear technology with Pakistan whereas Pakistan is facing the most worst ever energy crisis and needs it to overcome energy crisis and how long Pakistani beggar and slave leadership will be easily deceived and fooled by the such these US' leadership's hypocritical statements????
I think now ‘House of Boney’ will realize that helping UK and USA in $300,000,000,000 trade was a mistake, if not blunder. His Royal Highness, the Crown Prince must understand that now helping UK and USA in this trade means making India powerful ultimately.
