Bezinjo submitted his resignation to the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Balochistan chapter chief Sardar Sanaullah Zehri on Friday. Bezinjo, who belongs to the Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q), confirmed that he has sent his resignation to the PML-N chief in Balochistan.
The two parties – PML-Q and PML-N – are allies in the Balochistan Assembly where the PML-N had given the position of deputy speaker to PML-Q’s Quddus Bezinjo.
According to sources, Bezinjo said he would submit his resignation to Balochistan Assembly Speaker Jan Mohammed Jamali on Monday.
Bezinjo was elected from PB-41 Awaran district in the May 13, 2013 general elections on the PML-Q ticket. “I have resigned because of my personal engagements and reasons,” Bezinjo told reporters.
However, a source in the government said the reason of Bezinjo’s resignation was increasing differences with Speaker Jamali and Chief Minister Baloch.
“The deputy speaker had differences with the chief minister but in the recent weeks he had developed serious disagreements with the speaker of the Balochistan Assembly as well, and that is why he has resigned,” an official said.
The PML-N, Pakhtunkhwa Milli Awami Party and the National Party of Chief Minister Baloch are coalition partners in the provincial government.
