KARACHI: The Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) may move a privilege motion against Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah, but the party should not forget to include facts that he mentioned in the Sindh Assembly, said Sindh information minister, Sharjeel Inam Memon, while talking to the media after the Sindh Assembly session on Tuesday.

In response to MQM’s allegations and its announcement to move a privilege motion against the chief minister, he said that it has been MQM’s practice to always say they were on the right and not having the tolerance to listen to others. The minister said that they always try to run the assembly affairs in a normal way. The members of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), who are in majority in the assembly, listened to MQM members speeches patiently because they believed in democracy. Conversely, the members of the MQM did not have the courage to listen when PPP members spoke.

Memon said dialogue was the only democratic way to deal with any kind of situation. The PPP always welcomed not only MQM but other parties to solve issues through talks. “What could be done if other parties did not want to follow democratic ways?” he asked. The minister was of the view that there was always opposition in politics but no animosity. Therefore, all the parties should solve their problems through negotiations.
