Federal Minister for Water and Power Khawaja Asif has said Pakistan’s foreign policy has not failed. Talking to Express News host Javed Chadhry on Monday, he said China is ‘our extremely trusted friend’ while the country’s relations with the US have also improved. However, he accepted that Pakistan’s relations with the US have witnessed ups and downs. “However, the US will not do a service if it fans arm race in the region,” he said, adding that: “It will be against our defence interest if the US helps enhance India’s power.” Asif said it was just a coincidence that army chief General Raheel Sharif was meeting Chinese leaders when US President Obama was visiting India.
