Blasphemous caricatures: Minorities protest against Charlie Hebdo

BATTAGRAM: Hindu and Sikh communities protested against the publication of blasphemous caricatures in French satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo on Monday. Demonstrators blocked traffic on the Karakoram Highway (KKH) near Kuchehry Chowk for over two hours, after which they dispersed peacefully. Participants carried banners and placards with slogans for interfaith harmony and coexistence inscribed on them. People from all walks of life attended the protest. Speakers on the occasion shed light on Prophet Muhammad’s (pbuh) message of peace and tolerance.
