Mr Bean is to make a come back to television almost two decades after his TV series ended, The Independent reported.

A BBC spokesperson confirmed that Rowan Atkinson’s beloved character will return for a one-off sketch during Comic Relief on March 13 as part of BBC1’s Red Nose Day celebrations.

The appearance will mark the 60-year-old English actor’s 25th anniversary in the role.

Atkinson had sparked over 2,000 complaints last time he was involved in Comic Relief in 2013, when he impersonated the Archbishop of Canterbury in the most controversial TV moment of the year.

Last week Atkinson revealed that he is selling his £8 million F1 Maclaren “supercar”, which has a top speed of 240mph.
