The wedding, a private affair, took place at their Khar residence in the presence of a registrar and family members, including brother Saif Ali Khan, sister-in-law Kareena Kapoor and mother Sharmila Tagore.
According to the Times of India, Soha had earlier shared the ceremony would be a "small wedding in the presence of our family members.”
Soha stunned in a golden and orange lehenga while the groom donned a cream sherwani.
The mehndi ceremony took place on Friday and was attended by friends, including actor Neha Dhupia, who shared photographs of Soha on social networking site Twitter.
Soha and Kunal had met on the sets of a movie and exchanged rings last year in Paris.

@Farhan: Wow, where did you get that Qaid-e Azam was a parsi? Qaid belonged to the Imaili khoja branch of Shia Islam.
Mohammed Ali Jinnah was himself a parsi guy and was married to a parsi girl when he himself was Parsi. He converted to Islam like many other thinkers do and asked his wife for that but she didn't. Later he never drunk nor bow to fire. Those people who don't know islam may bring this to knowledge that a muslim male or female can't marry any mushrik (a person who attach someone with Allah or take anyone as Lord beyond Allah) if he she do marry any non muslim he is Zani (doing sex without being a husband and wife) has her penalty is death. Surah Nur defines it clearly: [This is] a surah which We have sent down and made [that within it] obligatory and revealed therein verses of clear evidence that you might remember. The [unmarried] woman or [unmarried] man found guilty of sexual intercourse - lash each one of them with a hundred lashes, and do not be taken by pity for them in the religion of Allah , if you should believe in Allah and the Last Day. And let a group of the believers witness their punishment. The fornicator does not marry except a [female] fornicator or polytheist, and none marries her except a fornicator or a polytheist, and that has been made unlawful to the believers.
@jor El Every romantic Hollywood or bollywood movie has hero wooing heroine or some side by side negative plot happening to ruin their union. So now it's stalking and sexual harassment? In that case all Hollywood movie falls in that category. Considering the explicit scenes that takes place after alleged "stalking" by the hero to charm her. @rajesh bollywood is pluralistic not secular. They don't shun themselves from religion and are infact very religious. They just follow simple principle "God is one - worshipped in different forms,religion. All good karma roads lead to him" that's what Hinduism says too. And it's not just Bollywood, even common indians do interreligious, inter caste marriages. Only in vilages you don't have this trend as religious outfits stigmatise it with love jihad, save our honour and all etc. Its common trend in cities between all religion not just specific to Bollywood.
@wb: "Would you next support a movie that glorifies rape? You probably won’t, but just asking for the sake of rhetoric." Raanjhana did glorify stalking. Rape is a couple of steps away from there ...
@Rajesh:
"Yes, in my definition, Jinnah was a secular man. He smokes, drinks, married parsi. He created pakistan only because he wanted to be Prime minister. He knew with a hindu majority in India, he can never be PM. "
You say you're not stupid. I'm sure you're not.
But again, drinking, eating pork or beef or marrying a person of different religion doesn't make one secular.
"You can never watch a hollywood movie more than 2 or 3 times, wheras a DDLJ or HAHK or Jab we met or 3 idiots can be watched numerous times."
If these are the examples of good movies, I feel sorry for the one who says so.
Also, to make things clear, DDLJ which is the biggest hit in bollywood glorified sexual harassment in the name of fun and love. Half of the film the hero sexually harasses the heroine and that heroine with rock bottom self esteem, falls in love with him.
And people watched it numerous times. Shows how stupid we Indians are. Markandeya Katju was absolutely right about us.
Would you next support a movie that glorifies rape? You probably won't, but just asking for the sake of rhetoric.
@BlackJack:
"Ethnic Parsi. She still had to convert, so not a Zoroastrian post-marriage."
True.
@WB ..." We Indians need to stop being stupid.". Well, I am not stupid, not sure about you.
Yes, in my definition, Jinnah was a secular man. He smokes, drinks, married parsi. He created pakistan only because he wanted to be Prime minister. He knew with a hindu majority in India, he can never be PM.
I still say muslim bollywood stars are secular. Their hindu husband/wife do not convert to Islam and that means they do not interfere with the other's religion. If this is not secularism, then what is?
"And Bollywood is just example of how films should not be made". Really ?? Wow. So good movies should be like Hollywood only or Iranian or what? I would always prefer bollywood to hollywood. Hollywood has a lot of technology, thats it. You can never watch a hollywood movie more than 2 or 3 times, wheras a DDLJ or HAHK or Jab we met or 3 idiots can be watched numerous times.
It is a matter of preference or taste. There are bad movies, but there are excellent ones too. Just choose properly and watch. Not all hollywood movies are good, are they? It is our desi slave mentality that thinks that whites make better things. If james bond does nonsense we say wow, if salman does we say bakwas.
@wb: Jinnah was married to a Parsi, Ethnic Parsi. She still had to convert, so not a Zoroastrian post-marriage.
@Rajesh:
"Bollywood is example of Indian secularism."
Even Indians need education on secularism.
Secularism simply means no interference of religion in governance and equal rights to all religions.
And Bollywood is just example of how films should not be made. It is neither an example of secularism nor is it an example for good movies.
Inter-religious or inter-caste marriages are neither examples of secularism, nor do they mean the person is secular.
Jinnah was married to a Parsi, yet he created a failed state in the name of Islam. Would Jinnah who created Pakistan on the idea that Muslims cannot live with Hindus be secular in your definition, just because he was married to a Zorostrian?
We Indians need to stop being stupid.
@Rajesh:
What about the 'Love Jihad' campaign?
Are you saying there is no secularism as inter cast or between different religion marriage is very common In India.
Bollywood is example of Indian secularism. All muslims in bollywood marry only hindus. Soha, Farah Khan, Katrina Kaif (very soon), Shah Rukh, Saif Ali, Aamir, Imran Khan, Farhan Akhtar etc etc. They even celbrate hindu festivals. Great.
