ISLAMABAD:
National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Rawalpindi has recovered Rs1,222.47 million from corrupt persons and arrested 54 accused in 2014, which is highest ever number for NAB Rawalpindi in any year. This was stated by the senior member NAB Chairman’s Inspection and Monitoring Team (CI&MT) during briefing to the bureau’s chairman Qamar Zaman Chaudhry. The CI&MT gave details of the inspection and highlighted the strengths and weakness of NAB Rawalpindi Bureau. The inspection was carried out from January 21 January 23, 2015 in order to review and evaluate the performance of NAB Rawalpindi Bureau on the basis of a quantified grading system. Chaudhry said NAB is Pakistan’s apex anti-corruption organisation which is assigned with the responsibility of elimination of corruption through a holistic approach of awareness, prevention and enforcement. He said this is his third inspection visit to NAB Rawalpindi Bureau after inspection of NAB Lahore and Karachi Bureaus.
