LAHORE:
Governor Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar said on Friday that the people of Pakistan deserved good governance and better service delivery. He was speaking at a ceremony organised at the National School of Public Policy to distribute certificates among participants of the 101st National Management Course and the 16th Senior Management Course. Sarwar said things could not remain the same. Sarwar said the civil service had to be reformed to predicate performance. Sarwar said the people expected the constitution of responsive systems to quickly redress their grievances. The governor said good governance was inextricably linked to the exercise of authority regarding the management of national resources. He said good governance linked economic growth with poverty alleviation and reducing inequality. Sarwar said good governance ensured that fruits of economic growth trickled down to the disadvantaged. He said people were at the heart of public policy and statecraft. Sarwar said public welfare out to be the endgame due to this. He said able and efficient civil servants reflected over challenges and issues astutely and strived to address them diligently.
