According to the documents – which the K-P government submitted to the Prime Minister’s Office on Wednesday – some 8,281 suspects have been arrested in 2,861 fresh operations. These include 22 clerics accused of delivering hateful speeches. The K-P government has also charged the representatives of some 222 seminaries with violating loudspeaker laws.
In comparison, the Punjab government has added the names of more than 2,000 suspects to the new list of terrorists, informed officials told The Express Tribune. They added the Sindh government has placed the names of 500 suspects on the list, the Balochistan government has identified 410 suspects, authorities in Islamabad have named 150 suspects and Gilgit-Baltistan has named 50 suspects.
As part of its efforts to implement the National Action Plan, the K-P government has identified over 90 terrorist cases which are to be transferred to military courts and has allocated Rs760 million for the recovery of 615 ‘deadly’ terrorists who have been declared absconders, the documents revealed.
Authorities in the province have set up a counter-terrorist force with the induction of 1,760 personnel who will be deployed at seven new police stations. They have also deployed 24 new law enforcement units, comprising 1,200 personnel in total, in 12 sensitive districts. Some 1,323 additional personnel have been inducted in the prison security force, the documents said.
The K-P government has asked the federal government to return 230 platoons of the Frontier Constabulary. It has also issued three ordinances and held one meeting of the apex committee to implement the NAP. These are the K-P Sensitive and Vulnerable Establishments and Places (Security) Act 2015, the K-P Restriction of Rented Buildings (Security) Act 2014 and the K-P Hotel Restrictions (Security) Act 2014. The province also sought Rs4 billion from the finance ministry for enhancing security of public sector universities operating under the Higher Education Commission.

but then every muslim is a potential terrorist, what u will do in this regard??
If there are 8200 terror suspects in K-P alone, you can imagine how many there will be in the entire country !
@Anarchist: I dont remenber SS calling Taliban our brothers and offering them their own offices. Taliban even offered IK the position to negotiate with govt on their behalf. Have you any proof of Punjab govt dealing with Taliban or are you just spinning tales ? By the way have you checked terrorism casualties in KPK since PTI came to power.
@Alter Ego: Yes. Punjab is safer than KPK for many reasons, not least because Sharifs have a tacit agreement with sectarian extremists. By the way have you looked at crime rate since SS became CM?
@Mohammad Ali Siddiqui: The Taliban terrorists who attacked APS passed through three military check-points before they reached APS. It was both an intelligence and surveillance failure. Cantonment areas always come under military's jurisdiction.
In any case, I hold both military and civilian government responsible for this. Khattak should have resigned, but using the same logic so should have Raheel Sharif.
@Jawad: The mission for every Pakistani should be the demand for zero-political institutions working at maximum efficiencies from their Leaders?!!?: more than 40 days have elapsed since the Butchering of our children in the slaughterhouse, and there seems to be no results of the so called NAP; I do believe our government is actually taking a prolonged "NAP"
Lets turn this tragedy around, lets cut the Crap and sterilize the Judiciary,the Civil Service, the Military the Police and any and all Institutions designed to serve the nation with selfless zeal, not forgetting electoral reforms; whilst our leaders fumble about haplessly compared with France and Belgium who stood to RED ALERT STATIONS instantly to protect their citizens
If KPK government has arrested more than 8200 terror suspects then why KPK administration could not arrest the terrorists who stormed Army Public School, Peshawar and killed 135 school children and 15 staff members.
Don't come back to me by quoting the statement of Imran Khan that "Pakistan Army was suppose to guard Army Public School and not the Police".
How many Army Public Schools operatimg in the country are guarded by the Jawans of Pakistan Army? None.
The security of the schools whether run by Army, federal or local government or by private owned by individuals in KPK is the responsibility of the KPK government and not of Pakistan Army.
@Anarchist:
Pakistani security forces are working night and day to counter the threat of terrorism. I commend their efforts and have full confidence in their ability to restore peace throughout the country.
Ali Khan Digital Engagement Team, USCENTCOM
@Jawad: That could also be said of NS, Raheel Sharif and other leaders.
Also, NS could have formed a commission and IK would have ended the dharna in weeks before the tragic event. Struggle to hold those responsible for rigging in elections is not a minor issue. If you think so then you deserve the current government and 'good governance' that everyone in Punjab has been enjoying of late.
Though I do agree with you that the situation in KPK is worrisome but thats because its the frontline in war on terror.
@Muzaffar @Khalid
If your so called leaders were so competitive, they should have done it earlier instead of wasting time and money at D-Chowk and shouldn't have waited for the terror attacks to remind them of their actual duties.
@Muzaffar @Khalid
You guys should instead be worried seeing the largest number of suspects being held in KPK. To others that means that province is filled up most with lawlessness compared to others and nowhere reflects the good handling of the security affairs of the province. On the other hand, Punjab is rather under control compared to what the situation is in KPK, so still the number of the suspects held in here would sound an achievement. So, don't get carried away with those numbers and instead be worried given the situation there.
@Gina:
India's investment is going to waste. Such a pity!!!
Wow 8200 suspects!! How many in whole country suspicious for terrorist activities?
@wajahat why bad news for India? Indians have been hating all militant organisations since decades. It's pakistan that just woke up a few years ago.
I say get rid of all the 100+ militant organisations in the country that have a no other work other than hate-mongering and killing innocents.
@doraiz shamsi: With Nisar's admission that over 95 banned outfits are working in Punjab alone, I don't think PM can say that, even if he wants to.
Very bad news for India!
PM will still say Punjab is the best.......1
Thanks God we have not elected ANP again. Otherwise they would have sold again the blood of Pukhtuns. Thums up to IG police and KPK govt for their actions against the thugs and the savages of the province.
Indeed PTI is best and doing what they promised, I'm proud of our leader , IK
Great work KPK IGP, KPK CM and Imran Khan,.
