The members had earlier resigned in protest against alleged rigging in the general elections of 2013. Durrani confirmed that the resignations were forwarded to Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP).
The members included Samar Ali Khan, Khurram Sherzaman, Hafeezuddin, Seema Zia and Hafeezuddin.
The Sindh Assembly was the first legislative body to accept resignations filed by the PTI lawmakers, as they had also resigned from the National Assembly in August 2014 but their resignations have been pending confirmation.

PTI wants its resignations accepted but still cries hoarse when they actually are. They have been served right by the Sindh PA. PTI should take back their resignation applications from the NA or their acceptance should be expedited and reelections held promptly on those vacated seats , as per law.
Oh what sore losers PTI reps are. Can't perform so they resigned under the garb of protests. Hahaha. People will think twice before voting for PTI next time for their voted has gone to waste. Karachites braved the MQM thugs to vote PTI and this how PTI pays back. Show them the door people. PTI has no place in oue heart now.
PTI lawmakers are at least principled. Not to compare with MQM and PPP, who keep coming back after resigning and the others offering them cash respectively, as the rumor has it.
If you resign a seat which is highly contested like the karachi clifton one it gives a very negative message to the voters. It is quite possible that PTI may not get that one back. This clifton seat won by PTI is the middle class,educated, mixed cosmopolitan votes.It was a seat any party would love to have it specially when snatched from mqm.It is simple 'you do not respect the voters the voters will not respect you either' see for yourself next time when there is voting around.
If you don't want resignations to be accepted, then don't resign at all. Now why they are crying like babies over acceptance of resignations?. PTI members stupidity has lost their party's representation from Sindh for next few years.
@raider:
Point taken my friend but PTI will only earn brownie points when it disengages and resigns from KPK assembly as well. As long as it is clinging to power in KPK just for the sake of protocols, flagged cars, perks etc. - It's resignation from other assemblies would have zero affect on the system.
The reason why PTI despite being under immense pressure has not resigned from KPK assembly is very simple; letting go of power in KPK would result in deep fissures in the party and ultimately it will break into several factions. We have seen how 5 PTI members are still very actively participating in NA proceedings.
@Adnan Siddiqi: Resignations will benefit the pti in long run, as incompetency of the Govt is proportional to time of its tenure and will be culminated and likely to reach its zenith at termination of this parliamentary tenure, if pti keeps enjoying the tenure would be considered same lot as if prevailing Govt
@Adnan Siddiqi: Good point. I heard after this Ayaz sadiq also found some courage and is rushing to NA to accept the pending registrations.
He might be a bit late getting there though as he had to fill up his car first.
@F Khan:
What's even more immature and bizarre is resigning from everything under the sun but selfishly holding on to KPK Government.
Kudos to PPP for not playing around like PML-N and PTI are between themselves. NA and Punjab Assembly speakers should also act not and fulfill their constitutional obligation. No room for "Muk-Muka" here.
Trust me the immature resignations from assemblies will keep coming back on PTI to haunt them for a long time. It was a stupid one based on egoism rather than a strategy. PPP once resigned from the assemblies and in an interview BB regretted it later and accepted that it was not a wise decision on her part.I hope so it does not happen with Khan Sb. later.
@ politics .. This is politics your leader needs to learn it
Off course, PPP led Sindh Government, with confidence from their Collusion partner MQM, chose this timing because of the upcoming Senate Elections. Shame on them on using this cheap tactic on one hand and at the same time portraying themselves as democracy champions.
PTI was eligible for one senate seat from Sindh. The status quo wanted to deny them that.
@gulmina: you must also resign from #KPK assembly . lol
pti still crying over elections? hahaha
