Fighting terrorism: AJK approves national action plan

A Joint Operation Cell would be headed by Chief Secretary Abid Ali which would help in implementing the action plan

The Azad Jammu and Kashmir government has approved the implementation of the national action plan (NAP) against terrorism in the state.


AJK Prime Minister Chaudhry Abdul Majeed gave the approval at a meeting of civil and military authorities on Tuesday.


The meeting decided the set up committees at the state as well as divisional level to oversee the implementation of NAP. Majeed will head the main committee while commissioners will be heads of the divisional bodies. Military authorities will also be part of the committees.


A Joint Operation Cell would be headed by Chief Secretary Abid Ali which would help in implementing the action plan. It was also decided in the meeting that Afghan refugees residing in AJK would be sent back to Afghanistan. The AJK PM said that NAP was a joint strategy of civilian and military leadership to rid the country of terrorism.
